POSITION OVERVIEW
We are seeking a SITL/Simulation Engineer to develop and maintain software-in-the-loop and simulation environments supporting the design, verification, and testing of a new aerospace platform.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop and maintain software-in-the-loop (SITL) and hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) simulation environments
- Support verification of flight control, avionics, and autonomy software using simulation platforms
- Build simulation models representing platform dynamics, sensors, and subsystem behavior
- Support test planning by identifying scenarios best validated through simulation prior to flight test
- Analyze simulation results and correlate with flight or ground test data
- Maintain simulation infrastructure, tools, and documentation
- Collaborate with software, systems, and flight controls teams to prioritize simulation needs
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as may be reasonably assigned by the Company from time to time.
REQUIRED EDUCATION, CERTIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS
- Bachelor's degree in Aerospace, Software, Electrical Engineering, or related field
- 3+ years of experience in simulation engineering, SITL/HIL environments, or flight dynamics modeling
- Proficiency in simulation tools and scripting/programming languages relevant to simulation development
- Understanding of flight dynamics, control systems, or avionics behavior
- Strong analytical and software development skills
- Must be a Canadian citizen and eligible for security clearance
- Experience with uncrewed aerial systems (UAS) simulation and testing
- Familiarity with MATLAB/Simulink or equivalent simulation platforms
- Experience supporting flight test readiness through simulation-based verification
- Canadian Security Clearance is required
HOURS OF WORK AND WORK ENVIRONMENT
- The position is an onsite role, and the Employee is required to perform their duties primarily at the Company’s designated workplace, as directed by the Company.
- The standard work schedule consists of forty (40) hours per week, typically performed Monday to Friday, subject to operational requirements.
- From time to time, the Employee may be required to maintain reasonable flexibility in working hours to support operational needs, time-sensitive activities, or business priorities.
