Who Are You?
The Junior IT Analyst provides front-line technical support and assists with the reliable and secure operation of company technology. This entry-level role is suited to a recent graduate who enjoys troubleshooting, learning new systems, and applying coding or scripting skills to improve routine IT processes. The incumbent will support users and technology across local and remote company locations under the guidance of senior IT staff.
What Will You Do?
IT Support, Infrastructure and Development
- Provide first-level support for PCs, laptops, printers, mobile devices, Microsoft 365 applications, and other end-user technology.
- Install, configure, upgrade, and troubleshoot end-user hardware, software, peripherals, and approved business applications.
- Support LAN/WAN-connected devices in a TCP/IP environment and assist with basic troubleshooting of switches, wireless access, VPN connections, and network connectivity.
- Assist with Microsoft 365, Entra ID, Azure, Windows, and user account administration, including onboarding, offboarding, permissions, and access requests.
- Monitor assigned cybersecurity alerts, endpoint health, backups, and IT service tickets; document findings and escalate concerns to senior IT staff.
- Assist with Fortinet network and security appliances, Windows Server, virtualization, backup, and disaster recovery activities under established procedures.
- Create and maintain clear technical documentation, asset records, support procedures, knowledge articles, and inventory information.
- Use PowerShell, Python, SQL, APIs, or other approved development tools to automate repetitive tasks, validate data, and support internal process improvements.
- Assist with testing, debugging, documenting, and deploying small scripts, integrations, reports, or internal applications using version control and change-management practices.
- Support business applications, including Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central, by assisting with user issues, data quality, testing, and vendor escalation.
- Participate in IT projects, equipment rollouts, site support, security awareness activities, and continuous improvement initiatives across company locations.
- Create/Manage/Assist with Power BI reports as needed.
Sound Familiar?
- Recent diploma or degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Systems Technology, Software Development, Cybersecurity, Networking, or a related field.
- Academic, co-op, internship, lab, project, or part-time experience supporting Windows devices, Microsoft 365, networking, cloud services, databases, Power BI knowledge, service desks, or software development is an asset.
- Foundational certification or active progress toward Microsoft Azure Fundamentals (AZ-900), Microsoft 365 Fundamentals (MS-900), Power BI Fundamentals, Microsoft Security, Compliance, and Identity Fundamentals (SC-900), CompTIA A+, Network+, Security+, Cisco CCST/CCNA, or an equivalent credential is preferred.
- Strong customer-service and people skills, with the ability to work respectfully with staff at all levels.
- Curiosity and interest in coding, automation, application development, data, cybersecurity, cloud computing, power BI reports, and emerging technology.
- Foundational knowledge of one or more programming or scripting languages, such as PowerShell, Python, C#, JavaScript, or SQL, supported by school or personal projects.
- Strong troubleshooting, analytical thinking, documentation, time-management, and organizational skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively in English, both orally and in writing, and to work independently while contributing to a collaborative team.
- Ability to travel as required and support colleagues across different time zones, as necessary.
