The opportunity:
The Business Analyst serves as a strategic partner between business stakeholders and technology teams, responsible for translating complex business objectives into actionable requirements and solution designs. This role leads business analysis activities for enterprise initiatives, drives process optimization, and ensures solutions align with Wellington-Altus' strategic objectives, regulatory requirements, and advisor experience goals.
The Business Analyst plays a key role in modernizing business capabilities across advisors, client, operations, compliance, and corporate functions while supporting the firm's digital transformation, data initiatives, and operational excellence objectives.
Key responsibilities include:
Strategic Business Analysis
- Leading requirements elicitation and discovery workshops for large, complex, and cross-functional initiatives.
- Partnering with business leaders to define business capabilities, business cases, and strategic roadmaps.
- Translating corporate objectives into solution requirements and implementation plans.
- Challenging assumptions and identifying opportunities for business process improvement and automation.
Solution Analysis & Design
- Developing business requirements, functional requirements, use cases, user stories, process maps, business rules, and workflow diagrams.
- Collaborating with Solution Analysts, Architects, Developers, Data Engineers, and QA teams to ensure requirements are complete and actionable.
- Supporting solution design activities through current-state and future-state analysis.
- Ensuring traceability from requirements through testing and production implementation.
Process Improvement & Operational Excellence
- Analyzing end-to-end business processes and identifying efficiency opportunities.
- Leading process reengineering efforts across advisor, client, operations, finance, and compliance functions.
- Recommending automation opportunities leveraging workflow, integration, and AI-enabled capabilities.
- Establishing process KPIs and success measures.
Stakeholder Leadership
- Acting as the primary liaison between business stakeholders and technology delivery teams.
- Facilitating executive and working-level discussions to drive decisions and alignment.
- Managing competing priorities and mediating conflicting stakeholder requirements.
- Influencing without direct authority to achieve business outcomes.
Data & Technology Analysis
- Conducting business-oriented data analysis to support decision making.
- Working with data teams to define reporting, analytics, integration, and data quality requirements.
- Understanding data models, APIs, interfaces, and system integrations sufficiently to support solution delivery.
- Validating that data and reporting solutions meet business objectives.
Delivery Support
- Participating in Agile ceremonies including backlog refinement, sprint planning, reviews, and retrospectives.
- Supporting SIT and UAT planning, execution, and defect resolution.
- Assisting Product Owners with prioritization and roadmap planning.
- Ensuring business readiness for implementation and change adoption.
The ideal candidate will possess:
- A Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Information Systems, Computer Science, Finance, or related discipline.
- CBAP (Certified Business Analysis Professional).
- PMI-PBA (Professional in Business Analysis).
- AAC (Agile Analysis Certification / IIBA-AAC).
- SAFe Agilist (SA) or SAFe Practitioner (SP).
- 5+ years of Business Analysis experience.
- Experience in wealth management, banking, capital markets, or financial services.
- Demonstrated success delivering complex enterprise applications, integrations, data platforms, or digital transformation initiatives.

Compensation & Benefits:
Range $83,000 - $98,000 annually.
This range represents Wellington-Altus' expected range of compensation for this position. Actual compensation will vary and will be based on various factors, such as location, skills, experience, and qualification for the role. Compensation for part-time roles will be pro-rated based on number of hours regularly worked.
Wellington-Altus' total compensation package for employees may also include discretionary bonuses as well as other perks and rewards. Wellington-Altus also offers health insurance, accident and life insurance, and other unique benefits per location.
