The mine is located a short drive from Wawa, deep in the forest where it is scenic and quiet. It is a real ‘boots on the ground’ setting. Team members reside in a camp environment and typically work on rotations, depending on the position. The camp offers excellent food, a sauna/gym, recreational room and the opportunity to stay connected with family and friends.
Salary Range: $124,000.00 to $160,000.00

About the Opportunity
Reporting to the Exploration Manager and Exploration Superintendent, the Senior Geologist – Surface Exploration will support the planning, coordination, and oversight of surface exploration programs across the Eagle River regional land package, including drilling, geophysical, and geochemical activities. The role will monitor active drilling, coordinate core handling and sampling activities, assist with drill planning using Leapfrog and QGIS, and provide core logging support as required.
With training and mentorship, the successful candidate will progressively contribute to geological interpretation, target generation, and modelling, including the development and updating of geological and structural models. As a key support to the Exploration Manager, this role requires strong leadership, initiative, technical competence, organization, attention to detail, self-reliance, and a strong commitment to safety.

You are an experienced and motivated geologist with a strong background in surface exploration and a passion for delivering high-quality exploration programs. You bring a combination of technical expertise, leadership, organization, and sound judgment, with the ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with multidisciplinary teams. You are comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, managing competing priorities, meeting deadlines, and maintaining a strong focus on data quality, safety, and continuous improvement.
Position Responsibilities, Accountabilities and Job Duties
- Take ownership of day-to-day execution of surface drill programs, ensuring alignment with approved plans, data quality standards, and production priorities.
- Meet with drill supervisors every morning, to establish and maintain communication lines.
- In collaboration with the exploration manager and exploration superintendent, generate and constantly review exploration targets.
- In collaboration with the exploration manager and exploration superintendent, ensure safe execution of drill programs to deliver corporate strategy.
- Contribute to the design and optimization of drill programs in collaboration with the exploration manager and exploration superintendent.
- Supervise core logging (lithology, alteration, structure, mineralization) to maintain level of accuracy, and quality, in datasets.
- In collaboration with site resource geologist, enforce QA/QC protocols (sampling, standards, blanks, duplicates) to deliver high confidence datasets.
- Ensure compliance with procedures for drilling, core description, sampling and labelling, data entry and data management.
- Work with the Database Manager to manage, validate, and maintain geological data within the database (e.g., Geotic), ensuring accuracy, completeness, and adherence to QA/QC and data governance standards prior to submission.
- Assist with summary reports, sections, and maps for internal stakeholders on a weekly and monthly basis.
- Contribute to NI 43-101 / JORC-compliant reporting where applicable.
- Provide day-to-day guidance and mentorship to junior geologists, core loggers, and technicians.
- Supervise staff carrying out various exploration tasks in the core facility.
- Coordinate contractors, including drilling, surveying, and sampling crews, in completing assigned tasks safely.
- Promote a culture of safety, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
- Ensure activities comply with company environmental, health and safety policies, and applicable provincial regulations, including the Provincial Mine Health and Safety Act.
- Conduct risk assessments and enforce safe work procedures.
- Enforce strict compliance with PPE requirements.
- Promote and maintain a safe working environment.
Qualifications and Experience
- Post-secondary degree in Geology, Geological Engineering, Geochemical, or another relevant discipline from a recognized university.
- Minimum of five years’ experience in grassroots to advanced exploration.
- Experience in Canandian mining environments, preferably gold or base metals, is an asset.
- Be in good standing as a P.Geo with a provincial-level Geology/Engineering association, or eligibility for registration.
- Strong data analysis and interpretation skills.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Solid understanding of industry best practices and application of NI 43-101 reporting requirements and standards.
- Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced environment with multi-disciplinary teams, as well as work independently to complete assignments
- Ability to work under pressure with a high level of commitment to meeting deadlines and producing high quality work.

Shift / Hours of Work: 12-hours
Schedule / Rotation: 14 days on, 14 days off
