Wood is currently recruiting a Technical Safety Engineering Student for the Winter 2027 semester, to work in our St. John’s office on large scale brownfield energy, mining, and hydro projects. Technical Safety is a broad and technically demanding field that includes engineering assessment and design work in relation to fire protection / suppression, fire and gas detection, escape / evacuation / rescue systems, as well as risk assessment and management.

Responsibilities
- Ensuring project schedules and client approved budgets are managed and met.
- Liaison with third party contractors and vendors in the procurement of materials and equipment.
- Operate in a multidiscipline environment to complete large scale projects for our clients.
- Provide Engineering support were required within the Technical Safety group.
- Completion of Bill of Materials for the procurement of material and services.
- Population of engineering database deliverables for project Closeouts including management of technical safety related recommendation closure.
- Adhering to all HSEQ requirements in accordance with Wood procedures and management systems
- Originating documentation including but not limited to design drawings, technical specifications, data sheets, and reports.
