The Wood Automotive Group is currently seeking an experienced and driven
Service Manager to join our leadership team.
Reporting to the General Manager, the Service Manager will be responsible for the overall leadership, performance, and day-to-day operations of the Service Department. This position plays a key role in driving customer satisfaction, team performance, operational efficiency, safety, and profitability while ensuring an exceptional service experience.
We are looking for a hands-on leader who understands dealership fixed operations and knows how to build, coach, and motivate a high-performing team. The successful candidate will be focused on achieving departmental goals, developing their people, strengthening customer loyalty, and maintaining the high standards expected across the Wood Automotive Group.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and oversee the day-to-day operations of the Service Department.
- Manage departmental performance, including productivity, profitability, expenses, workflow, and overall operational results.
- Lead, coach, train, and develop Service Advisors, Technicians, and other Service Department team members.
- Establish clear performance expectations and hold the team accountable for achieving departmental goals.
- Monitor customer satisfaction and take an active role in resolving escalated customer concerns.
- Identify opportunities to improve processes, productivity, efficiency, and the overall customer experience.
- Work collaboratively with Parts, Sales, and other dealership departments to maintain effective communication and workflow.
- Ensure the department operates in accordance with Wood Automotive Group policies, manufacturer requirements, safety standards, and applicable legislation.
- Foster a positive, collaborative, accountable, and results-driven team environment.
- Promote Wood Automotive Group values and brand standards while building long-term customer loyalty.

You Bring
- Strong automotive dealership Service and Fixed Operations knowledge.
- Proven leadership skills with the ability to coach, motivate, and develop a team.
- A strong understanding of dealership service processes, workflow, productivity, and performance.
- Strong technical and mechanical knowledge of automotive repairs and service operations.
- A customer-focused mindset with a commitment to delivering an exceptional service experience.
- Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- The ability to effectively manage competing priorities in a fast-paced dealership environment.
- A proven ability to build employee engagement, accountability, and collaboration.
- A results-oriented approach with a focus on achieving departmental targets and continuous improvement.
Requirements
- Minimum 5 years of automotive management and leadership experience required.
- Previous Service Management or Fixed Operations experience is strongly preferred.
- Strong automotive dealership background and understanding of retail service operations.
- Valid Alberta Class 5 driver's licence and a clean driver’s abstract.
