We are seeking an experienced Director of Project Delivery to lead the successful execution of multiple projects simultaneously while driving operational excellence, client satisfaction, and commercial performance.
This is a senior leadership position responsible for overseeing project teams across several provinces, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on schedule, within budget, and in accordance with client expectations.
Position Summary
The Director of Project Delivery is accountable for the strategic and operational leadership of multiple project portfolios across Canada. This role provides oversight of project execution, resource planning, commercial management, client relationships, risk mitigation, and team development.
The successful candidate will work closely with project managers, engineering teams, field leadership, clients, and executive management to ensure consistent, high-quality project delivery while supporting business growth and organizational objectives.
Key Responsibilities
Project Leadership & Delivery
- Provide executive oversight for multiple concurrent projects across Canada.
- Establish project execution strategies and ensure alignment with contractual requirements and company objectives.
- Monitor project performance, schedules, budgets, productivity, and key milestones.
- Ensure effective project controls, reporting, forecasting, and change management processes.
- Drive timely resolution of project issues, risks, and resource constraints.
Commercial & Financial Management
- Oversee project profitability, cash flow, forecasting, and financial performance.
- Review and approve project budgets, estimates, and cost control plans.
- Manage contract compliance and support negotiation of commercial changes and variations.
- Identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency and project margins.
- Ensure accurate project reporting to executive leadership.
Client & Stakeholder Management
- Serve as the primary senior-level contact for key clients and stakeholders.
- Develop and maintain strong client relationships that support repeat business opportunities.
- Lead project reviews, executive meetings, and performance discussions.
- Support business development efforts by identifying opportunities within existing accounts.
Leadership & Team Development
- Lead and mentor Project Managers, Superintendents, Engineering Leads, and support personnel.
- Build high-performing project teams focused on accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
- Support recruitment, workforce planning, succession planning, and employee development initiatives.
- Foster a culture of operational excellence, safety, and client service.
Safety, Quality & Compliance
- Promote and reinforce a strong safety culture across all projects.
- Ensure compliance with corporate policies, regulatory requirements, and client standards.
- Support incident investigations, corrective actions, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Ensure quality assurance and quality control processes are effectively implemented.
Strategic Planning
- Contribute to company growth strategies and long-term operational planning.
- Support expansion into new markets, sectors, and service offerings.
- Develop scalable systems, processes, and best practices for project delivery.
- Provide recommendations to executive leadership regarding organizational improvements and resource allocation.
Qualifications Required
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management, Business, or a related field.
- Minimum 15 years of progressive project management and operational leadership experience.
- Demonstrated success managing multiple large-scale industrial, energy, infrastructure, or construction projects simultaneously.
- Strong commercial and financial acumen.
- Proven experience managing multidisciplinary teams across multiple locations.
- Excellent leadership, communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to travel extensively throughout Canada.
Preferred
- Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation.
- PMP certification or equivalent project management credentials.
- Experience within LNG, energy, mining, industrial, commissioning, or major infrastructure sectors.
- Experience managing projects exceeding $10M-$100M+ in value.
