Your Next Challenge
Reporting to the Superintendent, Energy, and Infrastructure, you will be part of the Energy and Infrastructure Department. You will play a key role in the daily operation of the main camp of about 900 rooms. You will ensure that the goals and objectives are achieved while promoting and respecting Agnico Eagle’s culture, Health & Safety Code of Conduct, and the environment.
- Responsible for overall performance of the camp and ensuring excellent customer satisfaction;
- Manage room allocation and food service using camp management software;
- Develop training and implement career paths within the Camp department;
- Implement and deliver a high-quality menu plan, while respecting the budget (>13M$ yearly);
- Responsible of yearly barge orders (food & camp supplies) for the camp department;
- Responsible of inventory management (food & camp supplies) for the camp department;
- Develop and oversee a camp improvement action plan;
- Manage continuous improvement projects (i.e., wing and dining room renovations);
- Work in close collaboration with procurement for the new camp contract negotiation;
- Manage a team of over 140 employees including the camp coordinator and the Tangmaarvik supervisors;
- Actively participate in crisis management with managers on site (i.e., Covid management);
- Responsible of the various changing rooms (men & women’s dry);
- All other management duties.
What You Need To Succeed
- Diploma or Degree in Management or other related fields;
- 10 years of experience in facilities management in hotels, resorts, or remote camp sites;
- Managerial skills are required;
- Contract management experience;
- Possess excellent communication and leadership skills;
- Must have strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills;
- Experience working in a multicultural environment;
- Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work in a team;
- Excellent working knowledge of all Microsoft Office Suite applications, especially Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
Note that the official working language at Meliadine is English.
Your Work Schedule
- Schedule: 14 days of work, followed by 14 days for transportation and rest;
- Accommodations and meals are provided on site at no cost to the employee. Agnico Eagle provides charter flights to and from the mine site and will accommodate to cover other travelling expenses according to your location of residence in Canada.
