Captain XLS56 (Ref. #:2026-045) Sunwest Aviation Ltd. is the leading Western Canadian operator of jet and turboprop charter aircraft. Operating from a modern facility in Calgary, our aircraft are available for charter to thousands of destinations not served by scheduled airlines. We currently have an opportunity available for a Captain XLS56. Reporting to the Chief Pilot, this position is responsible for performing the duties and responsibilities which include, but are not limited to, the following: Type of Employment: Full-time Location: Toronto, Ontario Position Shift: 24 hour call out Salary/Hourly: TDB Competition Deadline: 2026-09-30 Date Posted: 2026-08-07 Duties and Responsibilities: Perform the duties and responsibilities as required on the specified aircraft Adhere to all safety regulations as per company requirements, Transport Canada, CARs, etc. Other related duties as assigned by the Chief Pilot and/or Deputy Chief Pilot SCHEDULE This position will be on a 24 hour notice basis The pilot will be on days off until required to report for duty When a trip is planned, the crew scheduler will send the trip brief 24 hours or more in advance of the trip Pilots may choose to accept a trip with less than 24 hours notice in which case they will be entitled to additional “call out” pay The pilot is expected to check their mobile phone or email for trip briefs at least once every 24 hours The successful candidate should possess the following qualifications and competencies. In addition personality profiling will be required of all candidates granted an interview for this position. Qualifications, Experience and Competencies: Must hold a valid Airline Transport Pilot License (ATPL), a valid Instrument and Type rating (if required), and hold a PPC and currency for an aeroplane in the aircraft grouping responsible for. 3,200 hours Total Time 1,700 hours PIC 2,000 hours Multi-Engine 1,450 hours Multi PIC 200 hours Jet Preference will be given to candidates with time on type Excellent customer service abilities Good decision making and problem-solving abilities Good organizational and time management skills Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Adhere to the safety accountabilities as per Sunwest’s Safety Management System manual.
