Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM (7.25 hours/day excluding lunch)
We are seeking a Senior Systems Testing/QA Specialist to support large-scale healthcare IT projects. The successful candidate will lead and coordinate system testing activities, develop comprehensive testing documentation, execute manual and automated testing, and work closely with developers, architects, product owners, and business stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead system testing and QA activities across multiple project streams, providing guidance to junior testers.
- Develop test strategies, test plans, test cases, test scripts, test data, and test result reports.
- Perform functional and non-functional testing, including regression, integration, acceptance, and production validation testing.
- Test web applications, COTS solutions, APIs, integrations, reporting solutions, and healthcare systems.
- Perform API and web service testing involving REST, JSON, XML, and HL7/FHIR-based interfaces.
- Develop and execute automated test scripts using tools such as Selenium.
- Perform SQL and data validation to verify data accuracy, completeness, and integrity.
- Support accessibility testing against WCAG 2.0 and AODA requirements.
- Test security components and authentication technologies such as SAML and JWT.
- Identify, document, prioritize, and track defects and risks using tools such as Jira, Confluence, or TestRail.
- Participate in defect triage, walkthroughs, QA meetings, and cross-functional discussions.
- Work with developers, architects, product owners, and business teams to investigate and resolve testing and production issues.
- Review business and technical requirements from a testing perspective and identify potential issues early in the SDLC.
Qualifications & Must-Haves
- 7+ years of experience in systems testing and/or QA, including leading testing activities.
- 5+ years of experience working with public-sector healthcare organizations/projects.
- Experience with large, complex healthcare IT projects and/or mission-critical systems.
- Strong experience across the full systems testing lifecycle, including test planning, test execution, defect management, and reporting.
- Experience with both manual and automated testing.
- Experience testing web applications, APIs, integrations, reporting/BI solutions, and COTS applications.
- Experience with HL7/FHIR, RESTful services, JSON and XML is highly desirable.
- Experience with API testing tools such as Postman, SOAP UI, or similar tools.
- Experience with SQL/data queries and data validation.
- Experience with Selenium or other automated testing frameworks.
- Knowledge of WCAG 2.0, AODA, and accessibility testing.
- Experience with defect tracking tools such as Jira, Confluence, or TestRail.
- Knowledge of SDLC, Agile, traditional, and/or DevOps methodologies.
- Knowledge of at least one programming language.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, communication, documentation, and problem-solving skills.
