Boundary Group is looking for a
Quality Assurance Specialist to support quality standards across our group of manufacturing companies.
This is a hands-on quality role combining
incoming inspection, supplier quality, ISO compliance, non-conformance management and continuous improvement. You'll work across our companies to ensure incoming materials and components meet requirements, strengthen consistent quality practices, and help identify and resolve issues before they impact production or our customers.
If you understand manufacturing, know your way around an engineering drawing and believe strong quality systems should work just as well on the shop floor as they do on paper, we'd like to meet you.
What You'll Do
- Lead and coordinate incoming inspection of raw materials, components, fabricated parts and purchased products.
- Verify incoming products against engineering drawings, specifications, purchase orders and customer requirements.
- Read and interpret drawings, tolerances, GD&T requirements, material certifications and technical documentation.
- Perform dimensional, visual, material and workmanship inspections using precision measuring equipment.
- Verify supplier certifications, traceability, identification and material documentation before acceptance.
- Establish consistent incoming inspection practices and quality expectations across Boundary Group companies.
- Identify, document and control non-conforming material and coordinate resolution with Purchasing, Engineering, Operations, Production and suppliers.
- Track corrective actions, rework and disposition of non-conforming material through completion.
- Record and maintain inspection results, NCRs and quality records in UniPoint or other applicable quality/ERP systems.
- Support ISO compliance, internal audits, corrective actions and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Ensure inspection equipment is appropriate, controlled and maintained within calibration requirements.
- Monitor quality trends and recurring supplier issues and recommend improvements to processes, supplier performance and internal controls.
- Help drive consistent quality-system practices and documentation across Boundary Group.
What You Bring
- Experience in Quality Assurance, Quality Control or manufacturing inspection within an industrial or manufacturing environment.
- Strong ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications.
- Working knowledge of GD&T.
- Hands-on experience with precision measuring equipment such as calipers, micrometers and gauges.
- Experience with incoming inspection, material certifications and traceability.
- Knowledge of non-conformance and corrective-action processes.
- Experience working within an ISO-based Quality Management System.
- Strong documentation, organization and problem-solving skills.
- Confidence working collaboratively with shop-floor employees, Engineering, Operations, Purchasing, suppliers and management.
Experience with
UniPoint, supplier quality, machining, fabrication, welding, heavy equipment or industrial manufacturing would be considered an asset.
