Our client is seeking an Aviation Technical Trainer – Engine Modules to support technician development within a leading aviation MRO (Maintenance, Repair & Overhaul) environment. This role is responsible for delivering high-quality classroom and hands-on technical training focused on aircraft engine modules, ensuring technicians possess the knowledge, skills, and competencies required to meet operational, safety, and regulatory standards.
The ideal candidate is a hands-on aviation professional with strong experience in engine module maintenance, teardown, inspection, assembly, and overhaul activities, combined with a passion for developing others through structured technical training and mentorship.
What You'll Do
- Deliver classroom, workshop, and hands-on technical training focused on aircraft engine modules and maintenance fundamentals
- Facilitate practical training sessions covering engine teardown, inspection, repair, assembly, and build-up activities
- Prepare and maintain training environments, equipment, tooling, and materials that accurately reflect shop floor operations
- Administer technical assessments, practical evaluations, and competency reviews to validate technician readiness
- Monitor trainee progress through defined learning paths and provide coaching, feedback, and performance improvement guidance
- Validate technician competency in both theoretical and practical applications and provide final qualification sign-off recommendations
- Promote compliance with aviation regulations, quality standards, safety requirements, and company procedures
- Partner with Operations, Engineering, and Quality teams to ensure training content remains aligned with business objectives
- Support the continuous improvement of training programs, course materials, and instructional methods
- Foster a culture of technical excellence, accountability, knowledge sharing, and continuous learning
Qualifications
- Diploma in Aircraft Maintenance, Aviation Technology, Aerospace Engineering Technology, or a related technical field
- 2+ years of experience as a Technical Trainer, Instructor, Mentor, Lead Technician, or Technical Lead within an aviation environment
- Strong hands-on experience with engine module maintenance, including teardown, inspection, troubleshooting, repair, and assembly activities
- Experience working within an Aviation MRO, airline maintenance, engine shop, or aerospace manufacturing environment
- Knowledge of aviation regulations, quality systems, and compliance requirements
- Understanding of adult learning principles, instructional techniques, and technical skills development
- Experience conducting technical assessments, skills evaluations, and competency sign-offs
- Exposure to CFM56 engines is highly preferred
- Experience with V2500 engines is considered an asset
- Strong communication and presentation skills
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively across technical teams
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
- Fluency in both English and French (written and spoken)
