Job Purpose
The Meat Cutter is responsible for the processing and production of beef, pork, and lamb products at B&C Food Solutions. Reporting to the Production Manager, this role ensures products are cut, processed, packaged, and labeled according to company specifications, customer requirements, and food safety standards. The Meat Cutter plays a key role in maintaining product quality, operational efficiency, workplace safety, and compliance with sanitation and food safety procedures.
Essential Functions
- Cut beef, pork, and lamb products to company specifications and premium quality standards while maintaining safe work practices.
- Inspect incoming products to ensure quality standards are met and verify product dates prior to processing.
- Package products according to customer specifications and operational requirements.
- Ensure all products are accurately weighed, labeled, and dated before shipment or storage.
- Sterilize and sanitize tools, equipment, and workstations according to food safety requirements before the end of each shift.
- Follow all food safety, sanitation, and workplace safety procedures.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary work area throughout the shift.
- Assist with product handling, movement, and storage activities as required.
- Report product quality concerns, equipment issues, or safety hazards to management.
- Work collaboratively with team members to achieve daily production goals and targets.
- Promote a safe and efficient work environment.
- Perform additional duties and special projects as assigned.
Qualifications (Education, Experience)
- Previous meat cutting, food processing, or production experience is considered an asset but is not required.
- Willingness to work with raw meat products including beef, pork, and lamb.
- Willingness to work in refrigerated or cold working environments.
- Ability to safely lift, carry, and move objects weighing 30+ lbs.
- Physical fitness and stamina to perform repetitive tasks and manual labor throughout the workday.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to product quality.
- Ability to follow instructions, procedures, and food safety standards.
- Commitment to workplace safety and safe operating practices.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Training will be provided.
