Position Overview:
- Bank is seeking an experienced Data Quality Analyst - Advanced to join the Capital Markets Data Management Office (CM DMO). This role will support the management of data governance, metadata, and data quality across Capital Markets.
- The successful candidate will work across both project delivery and application support, partnering closely with business stakeholders and end users to understand data requirements, identify and resolve complex data quality issues, establish data governance practices, and prioritize data quality improvements.
- This position requires someone who can bridge gap between business requirements and technical data analysis, with strong SQL and Python skills and a solid understanding of financial/banking data.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support data governance and data quality initiatives across Capital Markets.
- Analyze and investigate complex data quality issues and identify root causes.
- Work with business stakeholders and end users to understand data requirements and business needs.
- Capture, document, and translate business requirements into data quality solutions.
- Identify, prioritize, and coordinate the resolution of data-related issues.
- Develop and execute data quality analysis using SQL and Python.
- Represent business interests when identifying, prioritizing, and resolving data-related issues.
- Coordinate and lead tasks required to support the business from a data quality perspective.
- Contribute to the adoption and implementation of Data Governance and Data Quality principles and practices.
- Support metadata management and data-related projects within Capital Markets.
- Collaborate with technical and business teams to improve data accuracy, completeness, consistency, and reliability.
- Manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment while meeting project deliverables.
- Provide guidance, training, and mentoring to other team members where required.
- Participate in application support activities related to data quality and governance.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent education in Data Science, Computer Science, Commerce, or a related discipline.
- Strong experience working with SQL for data analysis, investigation, validation, and data quality activities.
- Strong Python skills for data analysis and/or data quality automation.
- Experience with Data Governance and Data Quality concepts and practices.
- Strong understanding of banking/financial data, preferably within a Capital Markets environment.
- Combination of strong business knowledge and IT/data skills.
- Experience gathering and translating business requirements into data-related solutions.
- Experience identifying, investigating, and resolving data quality issues.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
