The Opportunity
A growing Canadian-headquartered organization is seeking an accomplished finance executive to lead and strengthen its corporate finance platform during a period of continued growth and increasing complexity.
The Vice President, Finance will provide leadership across financial reporting, accounting operations, planning, controls, compliance and finance transformation. This individual will serve as a trusted partner to executive leadership, bringing together strong technical expertise, commercial judgment and the ability to translate financial information into practical business insight.
This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who can operate strategically while remaining close enough to the work to ensure accuracy, accountability and consistent execution.
The Mandate
The Vice President, Finance will be responsible for:
- Leading the organization’s financial reporting, accounting and control environment across multiple entities and business activities.
- Overseeing monthly, quarterly and annual reporting cycles, ensuring financial information is accurate, timely and useful to leadership.
- Managing external audits and supporting tax, regulatory and other statutory reporting requirements.
- Providing executive leadership with clear financial analysis, forecasts and reporting to support business planning and decision-making.
- Strengthening forecasting, budgeting and performance-management practices across the organization.
- Overseeing core finance operations, including billing, accounts payable, payment processing, intercompany activity, payroll oversight and related controls.
- Supporting financial reporting associated with complex ownership structures, investments, transactions and cross-border activities.
- Maintaining effective internal controls and identifying financial, operational and compliance risks within the finance function.
- Partnering with internal stakeholders and external advisors on accounting, tax, legal, regulatory and business matters.
- Establishing scalable processes, policies and reporting practices that can support continued organizational growth.
- Leading the evolution of finance systems, reporting infrastructure, data capabilities and automation.
- Identifying practical opportunities to use technology and AI to improve accuracy, efficiency and the quality of financial insight.
- Building, coaching and developing a high-performing finance team with clear responsibilities, service expectations and performance standards.

What You Bring
- A CPA designation is required; additional graduate-level education is considered an asset.
- Significant progressive experience across accounting and finance, including substantial leadership responsibility.
- Strong technical knowledge of financial reporting, accounting standards, internal controls and finance operations.
- Experience operating within a complex, multi-entity or regulated business environment.
- Exposure to investment management, financial services, real estate or another asset-intensive industry is considered an asset.
- Experience supporting cross-border operations, particularly between Canada and the United States, is highly valued.
- Familiarity with complex investment, fund or ownership structures and their related reporting requirements is beneficial.
- Demonstrated success improving processes, strengthening controls and introducing scalable ways of working.
- Experience leading finance-system, data, reporting or automation initiatives.
- Strong business judgment and the ability to communicate financial information clearly to executive and non-financial audiences.
- A proven ability to build teams, develop talent and create a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
