What you'll do.
- Lead client engagements from planning through completion, including preparing and reviewing compilation financial statements and T2 corporate returns.
- Prepare and review T1 personal and T3 trust and estate returns.
- Support tax planning and compliance work, including Section 85 rollovers and CDA calculations, and carry out tax research.
- Review bookkeeping, GST filings, and information slips and summaries.
- Build strong and trusted client relationships, from onboarding onward, and continuously add value using your skills, knowledge and expertise that you have honed along the way.
- Correspond with CRA and other tax authorities as needed.
- Mentor and develop team members through thoughtful review and supportive, hands-on guidance
- Contribute to special projects as needed.
What you bring.
- A minimum of 4 years’ experience in public practice, combined with industry experience in a senior accounting or finance role.
- CPA designation.
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance.
- Proven leadership and team motivation abilities and hands on supervisory experience.
- Solid understanding of accounting principles (GAAP, ASPE, ASNPO).
- Familiarity with Canadian income tax compliance, plus a willingness to refresh and deepen your tax knowledge.
- Experience with Caseware/CaseView, CCH iFirm, and tax software such as Taxprep or Profile is considered an asset.
- Strong communication skills, sound judgment, and the ability to manage multiple deadlines.
