Maintenance Supervisor – Day Shift

About the Opportunity
Our client is a world-class, globally recognized CPG manufacturing organization with a highly automated, high-volume manufacturing operation in Calgary. They are seeking a Maintenance Supervisor to lead the day-shift maintenance team and ensure the reliability, safety, and performance of the plant’s manufacturing equipment and infrastructure.
This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on maintenance leader who enjoys working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and has experience leading skilled trades in a unionized setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, coach, and develop a team of skilled maintenance tradespeople on the day shift.
- Manage daily maintenance activities to maximize equipment reliability, uptime, and production efficiency.
- Oversee preventive and predictive maintenance programs and ensure maintenance schedules are executed effectively.
- Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical, electrical, automation, and production equipment issues.
- Partner closely with Production, Engineering, Safety, Quality, and other cross-functional teams.
- Prioritize maintenance activities based on production requirements, safety, equipment reliability, and business priorities.
- Manage contractors and external service providers when required.
- Ensure compliance with all company safety, quality, environmental, and maintenance standards.
- Monitor maintenance KPIs and identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
- Support capital projects, equipment installations, upgrades, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Maintain strong relationships with the union workforce and ensure effective communication and adherence to the collective agreement.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related technical discipline is required.
- 1-1-2 of maintenance leadership experience within a manufacturing or industrial environment.
- Previous experience leading and developing skilled trades teams.
- Unionized manufacturing experience is a strong asset.
- Experience with preventive and predictive maintenance programs.
- Experience working in a high-volume, highly automated manufacturing environment is preferred.
- Strong leadership, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
