Manufacturing Supervisor –
Location: Greater Oshawa Area ON (On-site)
Salary: $75,000 – $85,000 Base + Benefits
Employment Type: Full-Time, Permanent
About the Role
We are seeking a dynamic, hands-on Manufacturing Supervisor to lead, coach, and empower a shift of ~20 unionized associates.
In this role, you won't just manage daily production numbers you will build team culture, drive continuous improvement, and foster fair, transparent relationships within a unionized plant environment.
Key Responsibilities
- People Leadership: Lead, mentor, and motivate a team of ~20 unionized production associates. Promote a safe, positive, and accountable work environment.
- Shift Operations: Manage daily shift production targets, workflow scheduling, line efficiency, and resource allocation.
- Able to drive CI and lean manufacturing projects onsite.
- Union Relations: Administer the Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA) consistently and fairly. Resolve day-to-day shop floor concerns in partnership with shop stewards.
- Safety & Compliance: Enforce OHSA standards, promote continuous safety awareness, and lead daily safety huddles to ensure zero-harm operations.
- Quality & Process Improvement: Monitor quality control standards, troubleshoot operational bottlenecks, and support 5S / Lean initiative implementations on the floor.
- Team Development: Conduct performance reviews, manage attendance, and facilitate cross-training to support associates' ongoing skill development.
What We’re Looking For
- Experience: 1 to 2 years of frontline leadership or supervisory experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment.
- Union Exposure: Direct experience working within or managing a unionized workforce (preferred).
- Communication: Outstanding interpersonal, conflict resolution, and active listening skills.
- Problem-Solving Ability: Quick decision-making skills to address equipment downtime, material flow issues, or staffing changes.
- Education: Bachelor's Degree is a must
