Location: Vancouver, BC
Salary: $110,000 – $130,000 base + benefits
Our client is a world-class manufacturing company and a recognized leader in the CPG industry. They are looking for an experienced Production Manager to lead manufacturing operations at a high-volume, unionized production facility in Vancouver.
The Opportunity
The Production Manager will provide leadership to 3–4 Production Supervisors and oversee day-to-day production activities across multiple shifts. The successful candidate will work closely with Maintenance, Quality, Engineering, Supply Chain, and HR to ensure production targets are achieved safely, efficiently, and consistently.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and develop a team of 3–4 Production Supervisors and indirectly support a large hourly workforce.
- Manage daily production operations within a unionized manufacturing environment.
- Establish and monitor key KPIs, including production output, OEE, labour efficiency, downtime, scrap, quality, and service levels.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on productivity, cost reduction, waste elimination, and operational efficiency.
- Ensure compliance with all health & safety, quality, food safety, and regulatory requirements.
- Work collaboratively with Maintenance and Engineering to improve equipment reliability, uptime, and production performance.
- Manage production schedules and resources to meet customer and business requirements.
- Support labour relations and effectively manage within a unionized workforce, including attendance, performance, grievances, and workplace policies.
- Analyze operational data and develop action plans to improve performance against production targets.
- Lead daily/weekly operational meetings and communicate performance expectations clearly to the production team.
- Develop, coach, and mentor front-line leaders to build a high-performing leadership team.
- Promote a culture of accountability, safety, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
- Participate in capital projects, process improvements, and facility initiatives as required.
What We're Looking For
- 5+ years of progressive experience in production/manufacturing leadership.
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Operations, Business, or a related discipline is preferred
- Previous experience as a Production Manager, Operations Manager, Manufacturing Manager, or similar leadership role.
- Experience in a large-scale CPG, consumer products, packaging, or industrial manufacturing environment.
- Proven experience managing Production Supervisors and large hourly teams.
- Strong experience working in a unionized manufacturing facility.
- Demonstrated ability to manage and improve Safety, Quality, Productivity, Cost, and Delivery KPIs.
- Strong understanding of Lean Manufacturing, Continuous Improvement, OEE, root-cause analysis, and operational excellence.
- Strong people leadership and employee-development skills.
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
