Senior Accountant | $80,000–$100,000 | Etobicoke (Hybrid)
There’s a point in public accounting where you want to stop being given individual pieces of a file and start owning the whole thing.
This opportunity is with a boutique CPA firm in Etobicoke, working directly with owner-managed businesses, small corporations and individual clients across accounting and tax.
You’ll manage your own portfolio, prepare compilation engagements and tax returns from start to finish, deal directly with clients and review work prepared by junior accountants.

What you’ll be doing:
- Manage a portfolio of owner-managed businesses and individual clients
- Prepare compilation engagements from start to finish
- Prepare adjusting journal entries and financial statements
- Prepare T2 corporate tax returns and supporting schedules
- Prepare T1 personal tax returns
- Prepare GST/HST returns and other CRA filings
- Review client financial information and identify issues
- Deal directly with clients and CRA inquiries
- Identify potential tax planning opportunities
- Research Canadian accounting and tax matters
- Review work completed by junior team members
- Mentor and support developing staff
- Manage multiple files and deadlines through busy season
- Support senior team members with tax planning and special projects
What they’re looking for:
- 3–5 years of Canadian CPA firm / public accounting experience
- Strong compilation engagement experience
- Experience preparing T2 and T1 tax returns
- Good Canadian tax knowledge
- Ability to independently manage client files
- Comfortable dealing directly with clients
- Experience reviewing junior staff work
- CPA designation would be an asset, but isn’t essential
- CaseWare, QuickBooks and ProFile experience useful
- T3 experience would be an asset
