Job Title: Software Engineer Lead
Location: Montreal, QC – Hybrid (2 days/week onsite)

Pay Range: $90/hr INC
Job Description
We are looking for a Custom Software Engineer / Development Lead with strong experience in Java, Spring Boot, Microservices, REST APIs, Kafka, and AWS. The successful candidate will lead the design and development of scalable software solutions supporting document and transaction processing in a banking environment.
Must-Have Skills
- 8+ years of software development experience
- Strong hands-on experience with Java and Spring Boot
- Strong experience with Microservices architecture
- Experience with REST / Open APIs
- Strong Apache Kafka experience
- Experience with event-driven and distributed systems
- Experience designing and developing scalable backend solutions
- Strong technical leadership and architecture experience
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Development, Information Technology, or related field
Responsibilities
- Lead the design and development of Java/Spring Boot applications and microservices.
- Design REST APIs and Kafka-based event-driven integrations.
- Lead document and transaction processing solutions.
- Design AWS-based workflows using Lambda, AWS Batch, and S3.
- Support ECM modernization and migration of FileNet/CMOD workloads to AWS.
- Provide technical leadership, architecture guidance, and mentorship to development teams.
- Promote coding standards, automated testing, security, observability, and reliability.
- Collaborate with architects, product owners, security teams, and business stakeholders.
- Analyze complex technical challenges and develop scalable and maintainable solutions.
- Support CI/CD, containerization, infrastructure automation, and deployment processes.
