Title: Technology Specialist 2
Duration: 6 months
Location: Burnaby, BC
Pay Rate: $30 - $38
This is essentially a hands-on desktop support / PC refresh position. The technician will be working onsite and helping replace users’ old computers with new ones. The work includes preparing and imaging devices, moving user data and settings, installing applications, setting up hardware, troubleshooting any issues after deployment, and making sure the user is fully up and running.
The key requirements:
- Windows 10/11 desktop support and PC refresh/deployment projects
- Imaging/deployment tools such as SCCM/MECM, MDT, Intune, Autopilot, or PXE boot
- Active Directory and Microsoft 365
- Basic networking troubleshooting such as TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and VPN
- Hardware deployment including laptops, desktops, monitors, docks, printers, and peripherals
- User profile/data migration and post-deployment troubleshooting
- Ticketing/asset tracking tools such as ServiceNow, Remedy, or Jira
- Direct onsite support with end users
A few important logistical requirements:
- Fully onsite
- Primarily Burnaby, with travel to downtown Vancouver and Surrey
- 3:00 p.m.–11:00 p.m. shift, Monday to Friday (PST)
- Must be comfortable physically moving and deploying IT equipment
- Ideally has a driver’s licence/reliable transportation for travel between sites
