Operations Supervisor
Foresight Recruitment Group
Victoria, British Columbia, Canada (On-site)
Your New Company
You will be working for an established and well-respected real estate development and property management company with a significant portfolio across Western Canada. They are looking for an Operations Supervisor to join their Commercial Property Management team in Victoria, overseeing the day-to-day building operations of a portfolio of mixed-use retail and office properties.
Your New Role
You will work closely with the Property Management team and be responsible for the day-to-day operations and maintenance of a commercial portfolio, including Market Square in downtown Victoria.
This is a hands-on role where you will conduct regular property inspections, troubleshoot building and mechanical issues, perform minor repairs and maintenance, and coordinate preventative maintenance across the portfolio. You will oversee contractors and vendors, manage work orders and maintenance logs, and ensure work is completed to the required standard.
You will also oversee areas such as fire and life safety, storm systems, irrigation and exterior lighting, while supporting emergency preparedness and participating in an on-call rotation for property emergencies.
Working closely with Property Management, Leasing, Asset Management and Construction, you will assist with tenant move-ins and move-outs, tenant improvements and landlord work. You will also support the Property Manager with annual operating and capital budgets and build strong relationships with tenants across the portfolio.
What You'll Need to Succeed
My client is looking for someone with proven experience in commercial building operations, maintenance or a similar hands-on property operations role. You will have a strong understanding of building and mechanical systems and be comfortable troubleshooting issues, completing minor repairs and coordinating contractors and preventative maintenance programs.
You will be confident working directly with tenants, vendors and internal property teams and have strong organizational and communication skills. Experience working with commercial office, retail or mixed-use properties would be highly advantageous.
You will also need to be comfortable working outdoors, using ladders and hand/power tools, and travelling between properties. A valid driver's licence and access to reliable transportation are required.
What You Will Get in Return
You will receive a base salary of $70,000–$80,000, along with benefits and the opportunity to join an established real estate organization with a strong presence across Western Canada. This is a great opportunity for an experienced Building Operator or Operations professional looking to take on greater responsibility across a commercial portfolio and continue developing within property operations.
