Job Title: Trading & Logistics Summer Student
Term: May 2027 – August 2027
Location: G3 Head Office (On-Site)
The Trading & Logistics Summer Student position provides a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the grain industry. You will learn the fundamentals of trading, logistics, and execution while supporting the Trading, Logistics and Trade Execution teams in their day-to-day activities. Through this experience, you will develop a broader understanding of the G3 supply chain network and how grain moves from origin to destination.
Responsibilities:
- Gain practical experience by working in the Trading and Logistics department, learning the processes involved
- Support the Trading and Logistics team in daily operations, including market analysis, contract management, and logistical coordination to ensure efficient movement of grain commodities
- Communicate shipping instructions to G3 country elevators
- Provide G3 port terminals with train quality information and timing
- Track, analyze and report on logistical data - identifying patterns, pinch points, and opportunities
- Work on seasonal projects to help streamline G3's processes
- Provide support for team members during their vacation
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications and Experience:
- Currently enrolled in an agribusiness, commerce, or related degree program
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to work independently and as a team
- Excellent communication and time management skills
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
- Willingness to learn and take on new challenges
- A strong understanding of AI is an asset but not necessarily required
- Familiarity with the grain industry is an asset but not required
