Position Summary
GenCore Utilities Ltd. is seeking an AI Agentic Systems & Automation Engineer to design, build, and deploy AI solutions that improve engineering, operations, project delivery, and business processes.
The ideal candidate will have strong experience in agentic AI, Claude Code, AI system design, Python/TypeScript, RAG, APIs, automation, and enterprise AI architecture. This role will focus on turning complex business and engineering problems into secure, scalable, and practical AI solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and build multi-agent and agentic AI workflows using tools such as Claude Code, Anthropic Agent SDK, LangGraph, AutoGen, Google ADK, or similar frameworks.
- Develop AI systems using RAG, vector databases, semantic search, memory, and knowledge management.
- Build secure integrations with internal APIs, databases, Microsoft 365, SharePoint, cloud platforms, and other enterprise systems.
- Develop and maintain MCP servers, tool-calling workflows, structured outputs, and reusable AI components.
- Use Claude Code for software development, debugging, documentation, testing, and AI-assisted engineering workflows.
- Design AI solutions that support engineering documentation, QA/QC, project management, proposals, research, data analysis, and business development.
- Optimize AI systems for accuracy, latency, token usage, cost, and reliability.
- Implement AI testing, evaluation, monitoring, audit trails, and human-in-the-loop safeguards.
- Develop production-quality solutions using Python and/or TypeScript.
- Work with engineering, operations, IT, business development, and leadership teams to identify and implement AI opportunities.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, AI, Machine Learning, Data Science, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field.
- 3+ years of software engineering, AI/ML, automation, or related development experience.
- Strong knowledge of Claude Code and AI-assisted software development.
- Highly knowledgeable in AI design, AI architecture, LLM orchestration, and agentic AI systems.
- Strong proficiency in Python and/or TypeScript.
- Experience with LLMs, prompt engineering, RAG, vector databases, APIs, and structured outputs.
- Experience designing production-grade AI systems and integrations.
- Knowledge of Git, CI/CD, Docker, cloud platforms, APIs, and modern software engineering practices.
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Anthropic, Claude Code, LangGraph, AutoGen, Google ADK, or MCP.
- Experience with Azure AI Foundry, AWS, or similar cloud AI platforms.
- Knowledge of LangSmith, Langfuse, RAGAS, DeepEval, or similar AI evaluation tools.
- Experience with Microsoft 365, SharePoint, engineering systems, or enterprise automation.
- Experience within utilities, telecommunications, engineering, infrastructure, or regulated industries.
Salary Range
Annual base salary: CAD $100,000–$140,000, commensurate with qualifications and experience. Benefits and any bonus are additional.
