- Manage scope changes, technical queries and commercial notices; prepare change proposals and obtain authorization before proceeding with additional work.
- Coordinate equipment specifications, vendor submittals and technical procurement support with the responsible engineers and the EPC procurement team.
- Maintain risk, action and interface registers, including permits, utility approvals, outages, long-lead equipment and dependencies between disciplines.
- Lead client meetings and issue clear progress reports covering deliverables, schedule, costs, decisions required and outstanding risks.
- Coordinate QA/QC reviews and construction support, including RFIs, non-conformance reports, field changes, commissioning interfaces and as-built deliverables.
- Support proposals, fee estimates, progress invoicing and project closeout while maintaining accurate records of approvals and contractual commitments.
Qualifications
- Degree in electrical, civil or a related engineering discipline, or a relevant technical diploma with equivalent utility project delivery experience.
- Minimum 8 years of relevant utility or energy infrastructure experience, including at least 3 years managing utility-scale EPC projects or major engineering packages within EPC delivery.
- Demonstrated experience with substation, transmission, distribution or utility-scale BESS projects through engineering, procurement interfaces, construction and commissioning.
- Strong command of project controls, contract administration, change management, cost forecasting and multidisciplinary resource planning.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Project or Primavera P6, Excel and project document control systems.
- PMP designation preferred. P.Eng. registration in Ontario, or eligibility for registration, is an asset.
- Clear written and verbal communication, sound commercial judgment, and the ability to resolve issues with clients, engineers, vendors and contractors.
- Valid driver’s licence and willingness to travel to project sites as required.
Salary Range
Annual base salary: CAD $100,000–$140,000, commensurate with utility EPC experience, project complexity and qualifications. Benefits and any bonus are additional.
