Director of Finance

Our client is looking for an experienced Finance professional to lead the modernization and continuous improvement of their Finance function.
Reporting to the CFO, this is a hands-on senior leadership role for someone who combines strong accounting and financial management expertise with a passion for technology, automation, process improvement, and building high-performing teams.
You’ll have the opportunity to shape how Finance operates, improve systems and processes, and partner with business leaders to drive better financial decision-making.
What You'll Do
- Lead Finance transformation, process improvement, and automation initiatives.
- Identify opportunities to leverage AI, technology, and automation to improve Finance efficiency.
- Lead the optimization of ERP and Finance systems, including enhancements and implementation projects.
- Oversee financial management for designated business units and partner with operational leaders.
- Support month-end close, financial reporting, cash management, and internal controls.
- Lead and develop Finance team members, fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
- Partner with the CFO, Controller, Technology, Operations, and other leaders on strategic initiatives.
- Provide hands-on leadership across both day-to-day Finance operations and longer-term transformation projects.
What You'll Bring
- 5+ years of progressive Finance/Accounting experience.
- CPA designation or equivalent experience preferred.
- Strong understanding of accounting, financial reporting, and internal controls.
- Proven experience with Finance transformation, ERP systems, automation, or process improvement.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, project management, and communication skills.
- Ability to balance strategic thinking with a hands-on approach.
- Experience leading, coaching, and developing team members.
- Experience with AI, automation, BI, or other Finance technologies is an asset.
- Manufacturing or distribution experience is an asset.
