We are recruiting a Senior Accountant for an established, privately held manufacturing and distribution group headquartered in Chilliwack. Permanent role, with full ownership of the accounting cycle across three related entities.
This is a full cycle seat. You own the books end to end, from source transaction through to trial balance and month-end close, rather than handling one part of the cycle.
What you will own
- Full cycle accounting across three related entities, from source transaction through to trial balance
- Month-end close: journal entries, accruals, prepaids and all supporting working papers
- Bank, credit card and intercompany reconciliations across the group
- AP, AR and payroll, including remittances, T4s and records of employment
- GST, PST and WorkSafeBC filings
- Year-end working papers and liaison with the external accountants
- Review of entries posted by junior AP and AR staff, catching coding errors before close
- Process improvement and documentation across the finance function
What we are looking for
- 5+ years of full cycle accounting with genuine ownership through to trial balance. This is the single most important requirement
- Demonstrated month-end close ownership, not close support
- Multi-entity experience including intercompany reconciliations
- Payroll processing experience
- Strong systems aptitude. The group runs an industry specific ERP, so learning a demanding system quickly matters more than any one platform
- Manufacturing, distribution, construction or building supply background is a strong asset
- CPA is not required. This is a hands on role, not a designated reporting seat
- Within a daily commute of Chilliwack. On site five days a week, no remote or hybrid option
