Capital Markets Senior Business Analyst

Contract Duration: 12 months
Work Arrangement: Hybrid – 1 day per week in office
Rate: $80–$90/hour
Role Overview
We are seeking a Senior Business Analyst with strong Capital Markets experience to support technology initiatives focused on collateral management, credit funding, liquidity, and financial data.
The successful candidate will work across business and technology teams to deliver enhancements to strategic Capital Markets platforms. This position requires someone who can operate comfortably between business stakeholders and technical teams, translating complex business requirements into practical technology solutions.
The ideal candidate will bring strong knowledge of Capital Markets products, collateral processes, funding, liquidity, and financial data flows, along with hands-on experience in business analysis, SQL, data analysis, integrations, and testing.
Key Responsibilities
- Partner with stakeholders across Treasury, Front Office, Operations, Risk, Finance, and Technology to understand business needs and define requirements.
- Lead requirements-gathering sessions, workshops, process reviews, and solution-design discussions.
- Perform end-to-end business analysis including requirements documentation, process mapping, functional specifications, data mapping, testing, and implementation support.
- Analyze complex Capital Markets data and business processes to identify opportunities for improved collateral utilization, funding efficiency, data quality, and operational effectiveness.
- Work closely with solution architects, developers, data engineers, and other technical teams to define scalable solutions and integrations.
- Develop and maintain source-to-target mappings, data flows, functional requirements, and interface specifications.
- Analyze and validate large datasets using SQL, including reconciliation and data-quality assessments.
- Support data integration, ETL, reporting, and downstream data distribution requirements.
- Coordinate requirements and dependencies across multiple workstreams and ensure alignment throughout the project lifecycle.
- Support UAT planning and execution, production implementation, defect resolution, and post-release activities.
- Build strong subject matter expertise across collateral management, treasury funding, liquidity, securities financing, and Capital Markets data.
- Identify opportunities for process improvement and recommend enhancements to business processes, data management, reporting, and technology platforms.
Must-Have Qualifications
- 6+ years of Business Analysis / Business Systems Analysis experience, preferably within Capital Markets or Financial Services.
- Strong experience supporting complex technology initiatives from requirements through implementation.
- Demonstrated experience gathering and documenting business requirements and facilitating stakeholder workshops.
- Strong SQL skills with experience querying, analyzing, reconciling, and validating large datasets.
- Hands-on experience with data mapping, source-to-target analysis, ETL, and system integrations.
- Strong understanding of Capital Markets products, processes, and data flows.
- Exposure to business functions such as Front Office, Operations, Finance, Treasury, and Risk.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to work effectively with both technical and business stakeholders.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively in a fast-paced delivery environment.
- Degree or diploma in Business, Finance, Mathematics, Engineering, Computer Science, or a related discipline.
Nice-to-Have Skills
- Experience with collateral allocation or optimization.
- Knowledge of SNU methodologies, treasury funding, or liquidity analytics.
- Experience with Databricks, Python, cloud platforms, or modern data technologies.
- Experience working with data warehouses, data lakes, or enterprise reporting platforms.
- Familiarity with security master, counterparty, FX, pricing, booking account, and reference data.
- Knowledge of downstream data distribution methods such as APIs, MQ, FTP, event-driven architectures, or enterprise messaging platforms.
- Understanding of trade and position lifecycle processes within Capital Markets.
- CFA, FRM, or other relevant financial industry certification.

Candidate Profile
We are looking for a hands-on Capital Markets BA, rather than a generalist BA. The strongest candidates will be able to bridge the gap between business requirements and technology delivery while understanding the underlying collateral, funding, liquidity, and Capital Markets data processes.
Strong stakeholder management, analytical thinking, SQL/data skills, and the ability to work closely with developers and data teams will be important to success in this role.
