About the Role
Delta Hotels by Marriott Kamloops is looking for an experienced and guest-focused Banquet Bartender to join our Banquets team. The Banquet Bartender prepares and serves beverages during weddings, meetings, receptions, conferences, and other special events. This role is responsible for setting up and maintaining banquet bars, providing attentive guest service, processing transactions, and ensuring responsible alcohol service throughout each event. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys creating memorable guest experiences, working as part of an event team, and providing professional service in a fast-paced environment.
What You’ll Do
- Set up, stock, maintain, and break down banquet bars.
- Prepare and serve cocktails, wine, beer, and non-alcoholic beverages.
- Provide friendly and attentive service to event guests.
- Follow event requirements, service standards, and opening and closing procedures.
- Maintain compliance with BC liquor laws and responsible alcohol service practices.
- Process payments and accurately record beverage sales and consumption.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe bar area.
- Work collaboratively with the Banquets and Food and Beverage teams.
- Assist with event setup, service, and breakdown when required.
What We’re Looking For
- Previous bartending or Food and Beverage service experience.
- Strong knowledge of cocktails, wine, beer, and beverage service.
- Serving It Right certification is required.
- Excellent guest service and communication skills.
- Previous POS and cash-handling experience is preferred.
- Ability to work independently and manage competing priorities.
- Positive, dependable, and team-focused approach.
- Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Legally entitled to work in Canada.
Working Conditions
Fast-paced banquet and event environment with varying hours, noise levels, guest volumes, and event requirements. Flexible availability is required based on scheduled events.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand and move throughout the shift.
- Frequent bending, reaching, pushing, and pulling.
- Ability to safely lift and carry bar supplies and equipment weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to carry loaded beverage trays and transport supplies through event and service areas.
