Our employer partner is a Home Healthcare Company and currently looking to add an experienced Personal Support Worker to their team!
Job Overview:
The Personal Support Worker provides in-home personal care and daily living assistance to clients, helping them maintain safety, comfort, and independence. The role includes supporting mobility, monitoring and reporting changes in clients’ conditions, and performing light housekeeping according to individual care plans.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide personal care and assistance with daily living activities in clients’ homes.
Support clients with mobility, transfers, and light exercises as needed.
Observe, document, and report changes in clients’ health or condition to the appropriate supervisor.
Follow individualized care plans and maintain clients’ safety, dignity, comfort, and independence.
Perform light housekeeping tasks as outlined in client care plans.
Communicate effectively with clients, families, and healthcare team members.
Follow established care procedures and workplace safety guidelines.
Travel between clients’ homes to provide scheduled care services.
Qualifications:
A Personal Support Worker (PSW) Certificate or an accepted equivalent qualification.
A clear criminal record check with Vulnerable Sector Screening completed within the past 12 months.
Proof of a negative TB test within the past 12 months and an up-to-date immunization record.
A valid driver’s licence, personal vehicle, and car insurance.
Availability to work every other weekend and flexible shifts between 6:00 a.m. and 11:00 p.m.
Strong verbal and written English communication skills; additional languages are an asset.
Good organizational, reliability, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to safely lift up to 35 lbs. (16 kg).
Ability to travel between clients’ homes and work independently while following care plans and safety procedures.
