Are you a Business Analyst with strong SQL and data analysis expertise looking to work on high-profile Financial Crime Risk Management initiatives within one of Canada's leading financial institutions?
We are seeking experienced Business Analysts to support critical AML Transaction Monitoring initiatives. This role sits at the intersection of business, data, and technology, requiring someone who can analyze complex datasets, validate business requirements, support testing activities, and effectively communicate between business stakeholders and technical teams.
What You'll Be Doing
- Analyze and validate large datasets to support AML Transaction Monitoring initiatives
- Review data flows, source-to-target mappings, business rules, and transformation logic
- Partner with business, technology, QA, and data governance teams to ensure requirements are accurately translated into solutions
- Lead and support Business Acceptance Testing (BAT), UAT, and data validation activities
- Create test strategies, test plans, test cases, and document testing outcomes
- Investigate data quality issues and identify gaps in business logic
- Work with ETL processes, data lineage, and data mapping activities
- Utilize SQL to query, validate, reconcile, and analyze large volumes of data
- Support change initiatives that improve Financial Crime Risk Management processes
- Act as the key liaison between business stakeholders and technology teams
Must-Have Qualifications
✅ 5+ years of Business Analysis experience
✅ Advanced SQL skills with the ability to:
- Query large datasets
- Validate data movement
- Perform reconciliations
- Interpret findings and provide recommendations
✅ Experience with:
- Data analysis and data validation
- Data mapping
- Data lineage
- Data quality initiatives
- ETL processes
✅ Business Acceptance Testing (BAT) and testing lifecycle experience
✅ Creation and execution of:
- Test strategies
- Test plans
- Test cases
- Validation documentation
✅ Experience working with:
- Jira
- Confluence
- Technology and Data Governance teams
✅ Strong communication skills with the ability to translate technical concepts into business language
Nice to Have
