Role Description This is a full-time, on-site AP & AR Accounting role based in Georgetown, ON. The AP & AR Accountant will manage daily accounts payable and accounts receivable activities, including processing vendor invoices, matching purchase orders, coding expenses, and preparing payments. The role involves issuing customer invoices, recording receipts, monitoring aging reports, and following up on outstanding balances to ensure timely collections. The individual will reconcile accounts, assist with month-end closing, maintain accurate financial records, and respond to internal and external inquiries related to payments and billing. The position also supports process improvements, compliance with company policies, and collaboration with other departments and division managers.
Qualifications
- Strong accounts payable and accounts receivable skills, including invoice processing, payment administration, billing, and collections.
- Proficiency in accounting software and ERP systems, with solid MS Excel skills for reconciliations and reporting.
- Knowledge of basic accounting principles, general ledger entries, and month-end closing processes.
- Attention to detail, analytical thinking, and accuracy in data entry and documentation.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills for working with vendors, customers, and internal teams.
- Ability to prioritize tasks, manage deadlines, and work independently in a fast-paced, multi-division environment.
- Post-secondary education in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; professional certifications (e.g., CPA in progress) are an asset.
- Experience in transportation, equipment leasing, or related industries is considered an advantage.
