LeverageTek is actively seeking a Senior Accountant, Consolidations for a permanent, full-time position with its Ottawa-based customer.
Work Location
The successful candidate will be required to work 4 days per week on-site at the customer headquarters in Ottawa, Ontario.
Key Tasks
- Take ownership of assigned consolidation processes and act as primary point of contact for stakeholders outside the department
- Perform complex variance analysis across face statement groupings
- Prepare and analyze financial-related quarterly reporting packages including variance analysis and cash flow statements
- Set manual foreign currency rates for key accounts to ensure proper elimination within the consolidation tool
- Review intercompany balances at the consolidated platform level and resolve any identified breaks
- Prepare journal entries and account reconciliations for timely and accurate monthly financial close
- Prepare and review PPE additions and disposals; maintain CWIP and fixed asset schedules
- Provide quarterly and year-end audit support
- Contribute to process improvement initiatives focused on automation, streamlining, SOX 404 controls, and reducing human error
- Assist with integration of new assets and acquisitions into the consolidated accounting and reporting process
- Support the Manager, Accounting with ad-hoc requests and special projects
Key Qualifications
- 4+ years of full-cycle accounting experience with a minimum of 1 year of hands-on consolidation experience
- Demonstrated knowledge of US GAAP; IFRS knowledge is an asset
- Private-sector accounting background with strong attention to detail and ability to work independently in a deadline-driven environment
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or equivalent relevant work experience
- CPA designation or scheduled to write the CFE within the next 12 months preferred but not required
- Experience with OneStream and/or D365 is an asset
- Solid MS Excel skills including VLOOKUP and pivot tables
- Strong time management, problem-solving, and organizational skills
- Flexibility to work additional hours during quarter-end and peak periods
- Ability to work onsite in Ottawa a minimum of 4 days per week
Compensation $80,000 – $95,000 annually
