C++ Software Developer

Position summary
Our client is looking for a C++ Software Developer to join a specialized engineering group developing software capabilities for advanced sensor systems.
The successful candidate will contribute to several phases of the software development lifecycle, including requirements definition, architecture, design, development, unit testing, integration, validation, debugging, deployment, and technical documentation.
Main responsibilities
- Develop new C++ software features from requirements definition and design through implementation, testing, integration, and documentation.
- Investigate, diagnose, and correct software defects identified during development, integration, and formal validation campaigns.
- Participate in software architecture, feature design, requirements validation, code reviews, and improvements to development practices.
- Develop unit tests and support V&V specialists in defining formal test plans and validation activities.
- Contribute to feature integration, solution deployment, software release activities, and technical documentation.
- Plan software deliverables within an Agile environment while collaborating with developers, architects, V&V specialists, and other engineering teams.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline. Equivalent professional experience may be considered.
- Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in C/C++ software development.
- Experience developing software on Windows and/or Linux, with strong knowledge of real-time programming concepts, including processes, threads, semaphores, synchronization, and memory management.
- Hands-on experience with TCP/IP, UDP, sockets, and interprocess communication.
- Experience with Git, GitHub, or another source-control and software-integration platform, along with full software development lifecycle experience.
- Strong communication, organization, documentation, debugging, and collaboration skills, with availability to work full time according to the hybrid schedule in Saint-Laurent.
Experience with aerospace, avionics, sensors, defense, or other safety-critical systems is preferred. French and English bilingualism is an advantage.
