On behalf of our Financial Services client, Procom is searching for a Data Analyst - Python for a 6-month role. This position is a hybrid position with 3 days onsite at our client’s Toronto office.
Data Analyst - Python - Job Description:
The project is currently in Phase 2, focused on implementing credit risk modelling methodologies into production processes. This involves the integration of new data sources into existing stress testing platforms and support for new stress testing initiatives.
Data Analyst - Python - Responsibilities:
- Design and develop data solutions to integrate new data sources into existing platforms.
- Develop and enhance Python-based processes for data transformation and validation.
- Analyze and implement changes in codebases based on evolving methodologies.
- Optimize performance of data-intensive Python notebooks and workflows.
- Refactor code to improve readability, maintainability, and efficiency.
- Ensure outputs are accurate and well-documented.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and validate results.
- Create technical documentation and provide knowledge transfer.
- Support end-user data processing and calculations through Python scripting.
Data Analyst - Python - Mandatory Skills:
- 3+ years’ experience as a Data Analyst with large datasets.
- Strong proficiency in Python for data manipulation.
- Experience in credit risk modelling, including Probability of Default (PD) and Loss Given Default (LGD).
- Hands-on experience in optimizing data-heavy workloads.
- Knowledge of software development best practices.
- Academic or professional experience in credit risk.
- Bachelor's and Master's degree required.
Data Analyst - Python – Nice-to-Have Skills:
- Strong SQL skills and experience with data warehouses.
- Experience in moving notebook-based workflows to production-ready designs.
- CFA/FRM certifications.
Data Analyst - Python – Assignment Length:
This is a 6-month contract position with the possibility of extension.
