We are seeking experienced Chef Supervisors to join our Special Events culinary team for a busy season of events across the GTA. This role is responsible for overseeing kitchen operations on-site, managing culinary staff, ensuring food quality and safety standards, and executing event
production efficiently in fast-paced environments.
Chef Supervisors play a critical leadership role in ensuring successful event execution while maintaining the high standards associated with the Marigolds & Onions brand.
We are hiring Chef Supervisors to support our culinary operations at two major sporting events:
RBC Canadian Open
TPC Toronto at Osprey Valley - Alton, ON
June 8 - 14
National Bank Open
Sobeys Stadium - North York, ON
August 1 – 13
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Set up kitchen workspaces with appropriate stock, equipment, and supplies required for service
Operate standard kitchen equipment safely and efficiently
Ensure all cooking utensils and kitchen equipment are clean and properly maintained before use
Ensure compliance with all food health and safety regulations
Monitor food production timing to align with event itineraries and service schedules
Plan and direct activities related to menu preparation and food production
Instruct cooks in food preparation, cooking techniques, garnishing, and presentation
Supervise specialist chefs, cooks, and other kitchen staff during event operations
Ensure food portions and presentation meet company standards and product specifications
Maintain a positive, professional, and productive kitchen environment
Demonstrate strong teamwork and communication with both front-of-house and back-of-house teams
Coordinate loading, transportation, and delivery of food and equipment to event locations as required
Troubleshoot operational challenges and adapt quickly in dynamic event environments

QualificationsQUALIFICATIONS
• Food Handler Certification required
• Valid Driver’s License required
• Minimum 5–10 years of experience as a Chef Supervisor within events, catering, or largescale hospitality operations
• Previous experience managing and supervising kitchen teams
• Strong knowledge of food allergies, dietary restrictions, and food safety standards
• Ability to remain calm and organized under pressure
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills
• Excellent communication and leadership abilities
• Ability to expedite food service efficiently in high-volume environments
• Flexible schedule with availability for evenings, weekends, and event-based hours
• Reliable, punctual, and professional in all work settings

Prolonged standing for extended periods (10+ hours)

Ability to work efficiently in high-pressure, time-sensitive environments
Frequent bending, reaching, lifting, and repetitive kitchen motions
POSITION SALARY & BENEFITS
Rate: $30–35/hour, based on experience
