We are looking for an experienced DB2 Developer to join our technology team in Montreal. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in IBM DB2 database development, SQL, stored procedures, database performance tuning, and data integration. Experience working in enterprise or banking environments is highly preferred.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain IBM DB2 databases, tables, views, indexes, and stored procedures.
- Develop complex SQL queries, DB2 stored procedures, functions, triggers, and packages.
- Perform database development, optimization, troubleshooting, and performance tuning.
- Analyze and resolve DB2-related production issues and provide root-cause analysis.
- Develop and maintain data extraction, transformation, and loading processes.
- Work closely with application developers, data engineers, business analysts, and QA teams.
- Perform database migration, data conversion, and integration activities.
- Monitor database performance and identify opportunities for optimization.
- Implement appropriate indexing and query optimization strategies.
- Ensure data integrity, security, availability, and consistency.
- Participate in code reviews, testing, deployment, and production support activities.
- Prepare technical documentation for database solutions and processes.
- Follow organizational coding, security, and database development standards.
Required Skills
- 7+ years of experience in DB2 development.
- Strong knowledge of IBM DB2 database architecture and development.
- Excellent SQL skills, including complex queries and performance optimization.
- Experience with DB2 Stored Procedures, Functions, Triggers, Views, and Indexes.
- Strong understanding of database design, normalization, and data modeling.
- Experience with DB2 performance tuning and query optimization.
- Strong troubleshooting and production-support experience.
- Experience with Unix/Linux environments and shell scripting is an asset.
- Experience with ETL/data integration tools is an asset.
- Knowledge of Agile development methodologies.
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
