Role Overview
We are seeking a polished Senior / Lead Network Engineer to join our client’s team in a high-visibility, technical delivery and leadership role. In this position, you will own network design, architecture, and deployment projects across various customer environments while providing hands-on daily technical mentorship to junior network engineers. The ideal candidate brings strong client-facing communication skills and a strong background in multi-vendor enterprise environments (specifically Cisco Meraki and HP/Aruba).
Main Responsibilities
- Architecture & Delivery: Design, configure, migrate, and support complex enterprise networking solutions across routing, switching, wireless, SD-WAN, and security technologies.
- Team Leadership & Mentorship: Act as the technical lead and daily mentor for junior network engineers, setting technical standards, guiding execution, and delegating complex routing/VLAN tasks.
- Client Engagement: Serve as a primary technical resource on customer sites, translating complex technical concepts into clear language for both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Implementation & Migration: Develop comprehensive implementation, migration, test, and rollback plans; build network diagrams and as-built documentation for new deployments and refreshes while minimizing customer downtime.
- Troubleshooting & Support: Diagnose and resolve complex tier-3 network availability, connectivity, performance, and security issues across campus, branch, and data center environments.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner closely with Solutions Architects, Project Managers, delivery teams, and OEM vendors to ensure projects are delivered on time and within scope.
Must Haves
- Experience: 5–7+ years of hands-on enterprise network design, implementation, and troubleshooting experience.
- Core Hardware Proficiency: Deep expertise in Cisco Meraki (Firewalls & APs) and HP / HPE Switches.
- Technical Skills: Advanced mastery of enterprise TCP/IP, VLANs, Spanning Tree, complex routing protocols, VPNs, high-availability setups, and network security.
- Soft Skills & Communication: Highly polished, client-ready communication skills with a proven track record of managing customer relationships and simplifying complex ideas.
- MSP / Professional Services Background: Prior experience working within a Managed Services Provider (MSP) or IT consulting environment.
- Security Clearance: Must be eligible for or possess Reliability Secret Level 2 Clearance (will require criminal background and credit checks).
Nice to Haves
- Certifications: Active CCNA (or equivalent vendor certification).
- Multi-Vendor Experience: Hands-on exposure to Aruba, Fortinet, HPE/Juniper (Mist), or Palo Alto Networks.
- Modern Architectures: Familiarity with SD-WAN, SASE/SSE, network automation, and cloud-managed network platforms.
Position Details & Total Rewards
- Target Salary: $115,000 – $120,000 Base Salary per year (commensurate with experience).
- Work Model: Hybrid (3 days in-office in Brampton, ON / 2 days WFH) + ~5% local travel across the GTA.
- Vacation Allowance: 3 weeks paid vacation.
