ABOUT THE ROLE
We're hiring a Data Developer to join our data team in Calgary. You'll work alongside the rest of the team on the pipeline that moves data from our application into BigQuery, and on the Looker models the business runs on.
It's a varied role that touches ingestion, transformation, the semantic layer, and the Google Cloud infrastructure underneath it. You won't be doing any of that alone - the team shares responsibility for the platform, and you'll have people to learn from on the parts that are new to you.
You'll work from our Calgary office at least three days a week.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Build and maintain data pipelines from our application into BigQuery - Airflow DAGs running on Cloud Composer, written in Python.
- Develop and extend our Looker models: LookML, data modeling, and row- and column-level security.
- Help monitor pipeline health and data quality, and troubleshoot issues as they come up.
- Tune queries and models for performance and cost.
- Mentor business users on how best to use Looker and the models the data team builds.
