Our client, a leading Canadian law firm, is seeking a Legal Technology Analyst to help identify and implement technology and process improvements across the organization. Responsibilities
- Work with lawyers and business teams to identify workflow challenges and opportunities for improvement
- Analyze legal processes and develop practical, technology-enabled solutions
- Research, evaluate, and test legal technology, AI tools, and workflow solutions
- Develop prototypes and conduct user testing to assess potential solutions
- Gather feedback from lawyers and stakeholders and make recommendations based on findings
- Evaluate legal technology vendors and products based on functionality, usability, cost, and risk
- Support the implementation of successful solutions, including testing, documentation, and training
- Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, consistency, knowledge sharing, and the overall user experience
- Prepare clear documentation, requirements, workflow analyses, testing results, and recommendations
- Stay current with developments in legal technology, generative AI, automation, and knowledge management
Requirements
- 3+ years of experience in a law firm, legal department, legal operations, or legal technology environment
- Current or previous experience as a Legal Assistant, Law Clerk, or in a similar legal/business services role is strongly preferred
- Strong understanding of legal workflows and the day-to-day needs of lawyers and legal professionals
- Genuine interest in technology, AI, and finding more efficient ways of working
- Experience with legal technology, document management systems, Microsoft 365, workflow automation, or similar tools
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and process-improvement skills
- Excellent communication skills and confidence working directly with lawyers and senior stakeholders
- Highly organized, proactive, curious, and solutions-oriented
- Strong attention to detail and sound judgment when handling confidential information
- Knowledge Management, generative AI, or legal technology experience is an asset
Compensation
- Salary up to $95,000, commensurate with experience
- Opportunity to transition from a traditional legal role into a dedicated innovation-focused position
- Hybrid Remote schedule - 4 days in office
