Woodworker / Millwork Production Associate
Work Schedule: Mon-Fri (08:00 AM – 04:30 PM)
Starting Pay Rate: Competitive salary based on experience and qualifications.
Position Summary
Woodworker / Millwork Production Associate who will be responsible for assisting in the fabrication, assembly, preparation and finishing of custom furniture, casegoods and architectural millwork products. The position works from drawings, cut lists, production instructions and supervisor direction to produce quality products in accordance with production standards, customer specifications and production schedules.
Key Responsibilities
- Measure, cut, shape, assemble and prepare wood and wood-based materials for furniture, casegoods and millwork production.
- Read and interpret drawings, shop drawings, cut lists, dimensions and production specifications.
- Operate woodworking equipment, i.e. table, panel, sliding, radial and band saw Assemble cabinets, casegoods, panels, frames and other custom components.
- Install hardware, hinges, slides, brackets and other components as required.
- Perform sanding, edge preparation, touch-ups and general preparation of products prior to finishing, upholstery or final assembly.
- Work with plywood, MDF, particleboard, laminates, veneers, hardwoods and other materials used in production.
- Verify measurements, fit, alignment and overall workmanship throughout the production process.
- Identify defects, damaged materials or production concerns and report them to the supervisor or lead hand before proceeding.
- Ensure completed work meets drawings, customer specifications and established quality standards.
- Assist with rework, repairs and corrective work when required.
- Maintain tools, equipment and work areas in a safe, clean and orderly condition.
- Follow all health and safety requirements, machine guarding procedures, PPE requirements and safe work practices.
- Work cooperatively with CNC, millwork, finishing, upholstery, shipping and other production departments.
- Assist with material handling, staging and movement of products throughout the facility.
- Perform other related production and warehouse duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Previous woodworking, cabinetmaking, furniture manufacturing or millwork experience is preferred.
- Ability to read a tape measure and work accurately with dimensions.
- Ability to read basic drawings and production specifications.
- Experience using woodworking hand tools and machinery is an asset.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a production team.
- Good communication skills and willingness to take direction from supervisors and lead hands.
- Ability to safely lift and handle materials and finished products as required.
- Comfortable working in a manufacturing environment.
