Contract Administrator
Langley, BC (On-Site)
Summary
What started as a roofing and sheet metal operation has grown into a full-service general contractor - delivering roofing, waterproofing, cladding, fabrication, coatings, and more across the Lower Mainland, Fraser Valley, and Sunshine Coast. Our client operates eight service divisions out of our 2.5-acre headquarters in Langley, with over 150 vehicles on the road and a crew that handles everything in-house - from demolition and excavation to welding and fabrication. They’re growing fast, and need someone who can keep their contracts running as tight as their jobsites.
Responsibilities
We're looking for a Contract Administrator to manage and oversee the full lifecycle of our construction contracts. You'll be the go-to person for everything from initial contract review and redlining through to close-out - across roughly 60 active contracts at any given time. This is an inside position based out of their Langley office. You'll work closely with project managers, estimators, and senior leadership to make sure our contracts protect the company and keep projects moving.
- Review, redline, and negotiate CCDC 2 contracts - They don't sign anything as-is
- Manage approximately 60 contracts simultaneously across active projects
- Process and track change orders from initiation through approval
- Coordinate project scheduling as it relates to contract milestones and deliverables
- Obtain and manage permits from municipal authorities
- Ensure contract compliance across all active projects
- Flag risks, gaps, and opportunities in contract language before they become problems
- Support the team on projects including institutional, commercial, and airport-grounds investment work
- Maintain organized contract files and documentation
Qualifications
- 10+ years of experience in contract administration within commercial construction - ideally with a Tier 1 or large Tier 2 general contractor (think PCL, Ledcor, Graham, or similar)
- Deep working knowledge of CCDC 2 stipulated price contracts
- Hands-on experience with change orders, scheduling, permitting, and contract negotiations
- Someone who's been around long enough to know what works and what doesn't - you've seen the problems before they happen
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage a high volume of contracts without letting things slip
- Comfortable working independently and making sound judgment calls
- Excellent communication skills - you'll be dealing with owners, subs, consultants, and internal teams
What we can offer you:
- Competitive base salary
- Full benefits package
- 3 weeks’ vacation
- Opportunity to join a 115+ year-old company in an exciting growth phase
