The Role
You'll support project managers, engineers and superintendents by keeping documentation, schedules, subcontractors and communications on track, from mobilisation through to closeout. You'll get strong mentoring and increasing responsibility, whether you're starting your construction career or already have a few years of experience coordinating projects.
What You'll Do
- Prepare, track and distribute project documents, including submittals, RFIs, change orders, meeting minutes and daily reports
- Maintain project schedules, milestones and action logs, and flag delays or risks early
- Coordinate with subcontractors, suppliers, consultants and owner representatives
- Support procurement, including purchase orders, subcontract agreements and delivery schedules
- Assist with cost tracking, quantity take-offs, pay applications and invoice processing
- Monitor insurance certificates, bonds, permits and compliance documentation
- Organise project meetings, site visits and inspections
- Support quality and safety documentation, including inspection records, toolbox talks and incident reports
- Maintain project filing systems in Procore or similar platforms
- Assist with prevailing wage, DBE/MBE and certified payroll reporting where required
- Prepare closeout packages, including as-builts, warranties, O&M manuals and lien waivers
What We're Looking For
Essential
- 0 to 5 years' experience in construction, civil engineering, project administration, or a related role (strong internships, co-ops and career changers are welcome)
- Basic understanding of civil construction processes and terminology (earthwork, utilities, paving, concrete, structures)
- Ability to read and interpret basic drawings and specifications
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel, Word and Outlook
- Clear written and verbal communication, comfortable working with field crews, subcontractors and clients
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
- Willingness to visit project sites; OSHA 10-hour card (or willingness to obtain)
Desirable
- Experience with Procore, Bluebeam, Primavera P6, MS Project, Autodesk Construction Cloud or similar
- Familiarity with DOT, municipal or federal-aid project requirements
- Understanding of contract documents, submittals and RFI processes
- Experience with cost control, estimating or quantity take-offs
- Progress toward certifications such as CAPM, PMP, CCM or OSHA 30
- Bachelor's or associate degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
