Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Manager – Structures Design to lead a multidisciplinary aerospace engineering team responsible for aircraft structures design and integration activities. This role combines technical leadership, people management, program execution, budget oversight, and stakeholder engagement to support complex aircraft development programs.
The successful candidate will bring deep aerospace engineering expertise, strong leadership capabilities, and experience managing engineering teams, resources, and project deliverables in a fast-paced aerospace environment.
Key Responsibilities
Engineering Leadership
- Lead and manage a team of engineering specialists responsible for aircraft structures design and integration.
- Provide technical direction and ensure alignment with program objectives.
- Drive engineering excellence, innovation, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Promote best practices, lessons learned, and knowledge-sharing across teams.
Team Management & Development
- Coach, mentor, and develop engineering professionals.
- Support performance management, workforce planning, and employee growth.
- Foster a collaborative and high-performing team environment.
- Build technical and leadership capabilities within the organization.
Program & Project Management
- Manage engineering scope of work, schedules, priorities, and deliverables.
- Monitor program progress and implement risk mitigation strategies.
- Ensure successful execution of engineering projects within defined timelines.
- Support governance activities and management reviews.
Stakeholder Management
- Collaborate with engineering teams, suppliers, manufacturing, and program leadership.
- Drive cross-functional alignment and technical decision-making.
- Communicate project status, risks, and key updates to stakeholders.
Financial & Operational Management
- Manage engineering budgets and departmental expenditures.
- Optimize resource utilization and operational effectiveness.
- Support strategic objectives through effective planning and execution.
Production & In-Service Support
- Support production and in-service engineering issue resolution.
- Participate in technical investigations and corrective action activities.
- Ensure successful implementation of engineering solutions.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Aerospace Engineering preferred).
- 20+ years of aerospace engineering experience.
- 3+ years of engineering leadership/people management experience.
- Proven experience leading multidisciplinary engineering teams.
- Strong knowledge of aircraft design, structures integration, and manufacturing processes.
- Experience managing engineering programs, budgets, resources, and schedules.
- Excellent problem-solving and stakeholder management skills.
