Responsibilities:
- Design and deliver robust, safety-compliant control systems for complex installations
- Develop PLC/HMI systems and control architectures using Siemens TIA Portal
- Support functional safety design and validation, including ISO 13849
- Develop electrical system designs, schematics, and documentation using AutoCAD
- Lead commissioning, troubleshooting, and customer handover on global project sites
- Support bid and proposal development with practical, cost-effective control solutions
- Standardize and improve control architectures across different platforms
- Collaborate with Project Execution, Product, and Supply Chain teams to deliver projects on schedule
- Troubleshoot software, hardware, electrical, and industrial network issues
- Ensure compliance with applicable electrical codes, standards, and regulatory requirements
Qualifications and Experience:
- Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field
- 3–6 years of experience in controls or industrial automation
- Strong experience with PLC programming, system integration, and commissioning
- Proficiency with Siemens TIA Portal and industrial automation systems
- Experience with industrial networks including PROFINET, PROFIsafe, Ethernet/IP, or Modbus
- Knowledge of IEC 61131-3 programming languages including Ladder, FBD, or Structured Text
- Experience with electrical system design, schematics, and AutoCAD
- Understanding of functional safety, ISO 13849, and SISTEMA is an asset
- EIT status or eligibility for registration with EGBC is an asset
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Flexible and adaptable, with a willingness to take on new responsibilities within a growing team
- Must have at least 2–3 years remaining on a valid Canadian work permit, or hold Canadian PR/citizenship
Salary: $80,000–$100,000
Location: Richmond, BC (Moving to Mount Pleasant in 2027)
Travel: Approximately 25% international travel, including 2–3+ week assignments for installation and commissioning
Work arrangement: Full-time, primarily onsite
