Responsibilities
Provide subject matter expertise in medically delegated grossing procedures and technical services in Surgical Pathology and Autopsy, including complex specimen grossing, frozen sectioning, and digital image capture and analysis of radiological findings. Collaborate with medical staff and other stakeholders to maintain quality patient care, improve services through standardized processes and Lean principles, and participate in meetings and committees.
Requirements
Pathologists’ Assistant certification from CCCPA-CCCAP or ASCP is required, with new graduates expected to obtain it within one year; at least three years of experience in an academic hospital clinical laboratory is preferred. Candidates should demonstrate expertise in complex cases and timely frozen sections, strong laboratory practice, communication, organization, time management, and computer skills, and the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
