We are searching for an eager Facilities Engineering intern. Reporting to the Manager, Facilities Engineering, you will be working closely with our Facility Engineering team, operations personnel and project teams to support the design, operation, maintenance and optimization of upstream oil and gas facilities. You will have the opportunity to work with practicing professional engineers and gain exposure to their daily activities.
This intern position is based out of Calgary, working from our office 5 days per week with occasional field travel to Alberta facilities. This position is full-time from May 2027 to August 2028.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support facility engineers in the design, operation, and optimization of oil and gas production facilities.
- Undertake small projects supervised by a Senior Engineer.
- Assist the team with project applications to governmental authorities.
- Work with the Facilities Engineers on project file creation and management.
- Support the team with project cost tracking.
- Aid with the development of project scopes, design reviews and project scheduling.

- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate professionally with a variety of stakeholders
- Proven ability to adapt to changing priorities, deadlines, and business needs in a fast-paced environment
- Demonstrate initiative, accountability, and ownership of work, with a strong focus on delivering high-quality results
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
- Prior internship, co-op, volunteer, customer service, or relevant work experience is considered an asset
- Experience working on academic, extracurricular, or community projects demonstrating leadership, teamwork, and initiative is considered an asset
Minimum Qualifications:
- Currently enrolled in an Engineering bachelor’s degree program, preference will be given to those in their 3rd or 4th year of Chemical Mechanical or Petroleum Engineering
- Must be returning to full-time studies upon completion of the work term
- Must attach your most recent unofficial or official transcript with your application to be considered
- Available to work full-time in our Calgary office for the duration of the 16-month work term
- Must be legally eligible to work in Canada
- Ability and willingness to travel to Alberta field locations for primarily day trips and occasional overnight visits.
- Valid Class 5 Alberta driver's license (or equivalent) preferred
- The successful candidate will be required to provide satisfactory references and pass a criminal background check
