We are searching for an eager Operations Engineering Intern or Summer Student. Reporting to the Manager, Operations Engineering, you will be working closely with our Engineering team. You will have the opportunity to work with a practicing professional engineer and gain exposure to day-to-day operations and maintenance. Providing support and assistance to the Field Operations team, you will assist on capital projects with planned exposure to process, piping, E/I, regulatory, production, asset integrity and measurement.
This is a summer student position based out of Calgary, working from our office 5 days per week with occasional field travel to Alberta facilities. This position is full-time from May to August 2027.
Key Responsibilities:
- Update facility As-Built drawings and redlines for projects.
- Learn process engineering calculation and support field data gathering.
- Assist with management of change projects (information gathering, document control, cost estimating, drawing reviews, project execution etc.)
- Support Operations Engineers with project scoping, design and execution
- Support Operations personnel with engineering support.
- Chase OPEX reduction initiatives
Key Skills:
- High attention to detail and strong organizational skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate professionally with a variety of stakeholders
- Proven ability to adapt to changing priorities, deadlines, and business needs in a fast-paced environment
- Demonstrates initiative, accountability, and ownership of work, with a strong focus on delivering high-quality results
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
- Prior internship, co-op, volunteer, customer service, or relevant work experience is considered an asset
- Experience working on academic, extracurricular, or community projects demonstrating leadership, teamwork, and initiative is considered an asset
Minimum Qualifications:
- Currently enrolled in an Engineering bachelor’s degree program, preference will be given to those in their 2nd, 3rd or 4th year of Chemical, Mechanical or Petroleum Engineering
- Must be returning to full-time studies upon completion of the work term
- Must attach your most recent unofficial or official transcript with your application to be considered
- Available to work full-time in our Calgary office for the duration of the 4-month work term
- Ability and willingness to travel to Alberta field locations for primarily day trips
- Valid Class 5 Alberta driver's license (or equivalent) preferrence
- Must be legally eligible to work in Canada
- The successful candidate will be required to provide satisfactory references and pass a criminal background check
