Security Engineer – 12-Month Contract with extensions
We’re looking for an experienced Security Engineer to support medium-complexity engineering projects and operations. This is a 12-month contract with a strong possibility of extension.
What You’ll Do:
- Develop safe and effective engineering solutions.
- Perform engineering design, analysis and problem-solving.
- Interpret engineering specifications and technical requirements.
- Resolve complex design and field engineering issues.
- Support project schedules, costs, quality and progress reporting.
- Contribute to technical standards and engineering best practices.
What We’re Looking For:
- 8+ years of relevant engineering experience.
- P.Eng. or P.Geo. registration, or eligible for registration with EGBC.
- Familiarity with CAD systems and drawing standards.
- Experience with industry-standard design/analysis software.
- Strong MS Office and communication skills.
- Must have access to an applicable EGBC Permit to Practice prior to starting.
High level requirement and scope: Electrical, P&C or both design experience including but not limited to: - Equipment layout design - Wiring and schematic design - Equipment sizing, cable type and size selection - Working with drafters, designers, and POR - Familiar with engineering and drafting standards (an asset) Typical work for the security engineer: - Security design, including equipment type, layout, wiring and schematic - Inspection and Test Plan (ITP) design - Perform testing and commissioning at site - Provide support on standard update
